This book will be a great encouragement to those folks who are struggling through, what I call, a "winter season." It's a gentle book for the hurting and it will tell you how my parents LIVED through the devastating effects of Alzheimer's disease. In the pages of this book you will discover how you, too, can experience peace and joy in the midst of terrible circumstances. Blessings Beloved...
I am about 100 pages into the book and it is hard to put down. It is answering a lot of questions I had about Alzheimer’s. The book is enough of a family story for family, but it is also written for others to read about what that disease is like on a day to day basis. It’s very well written. Congratulations!
D.H. I just finished reading Alzheimer’s, Archaeology, and the Armed Forces, and I'm encouraging you to read it!! I am amazed at the life and marriage of Gary & Betty Steele. It is or could be the story of anyone of us today....
As a daughter of someone who lost their parent to Alzheimer’s, and I am approximately the same age of Betty as she was walking through the disease with her husband, this story drew me into their relationship and I walked with them as they looked for 'stones' in the fields, their long distance relationship from a Navy ship, and finally the long, hard path of Alzheimer’s without each other. Well done, Susan Steele!! Thank you for sharing your family’s story with me!! I was blest to read it!!! J.N. |
Susan! The book looks perfect! I flipped through the pages, admiring how well assembled the whole thing turned out... and as I started to read various portions, I encountered more than words, more than sentences. You have refined your work to a point that the writing has become... musical. I read Chapter 6 aloud to someone else, and your words received hearty agreement as the truth behind the pictures you painted resonated with someone else's experiences. What a champion you have produced! May this Labor of Love bless abundantly!
K.P. Received your book! The cover is absolutely fantastic! Already engrossed in reading! Susan, such a great walk down memory lane. I’ve known your folks since I was five years old. Being a kid, I didn’t know the back story! What a beautiful blessing; my mind is recalling so much, even tiny remembrances come to my mind with UTMOST clarity. Beautiful, wonderful choreograph of words. I can’t put it down. You are so gifted with storytelling….JUST LIKE YOUR DAD! Loving every word!

Susan,
Your book is keeping me up at night! I just can’t put it down. M.S. You know Susan, I was not going to read your book. I love your Mom and enjoy our encounters, but I just wasn’t interested in reading your book. However, I am about a third of the way through it now and I love it. You write so well and the research is excellent. I am enjoying your book very much. Thank you.
M.C. Boy did you do a stellar Job. The book is terrific, had a hard time putting it down.
Love you. B.G. Hi Susan,
Apparently my Dad has never grieved losing your Dad. He just came out if his room sobbing. He said your Dad was "One in 50 million." He is reading your book again. I feel so sad for him. I guess I never really knew how much my Dad loved your Dad. I've only seen my Dad cry 2 times in my life. Losing my brother Eric and losing my Uncle. I just wanted to let you know how special your Dad is. And he sure is loved. I comforted my Dad and told him he will see your Dad again. And how blessed he was to have had him as a true friend. Wow....my Dad was truly blessed. T.Q. |
There are so many good books and movies out there, but what to choose?
Of course, the Bible is the Best Book,
yet I thought I would add the titles from some of the other books
that I have read that have helped me to grow in Wisdom and
Knowledge of the Word of God for your edification.
I also included some fantastic movie titles...
Be Blessed Beloved, and keep growing.

Biblical, historical, midrash. Years ago, I began to see the Biblical characters as three dimensional, and that's why I really like Roberta Kells Dorr's books because she brings the Biblical characters to life. What the Bible leaves out is what Dorr fills in--that's what midrash means. Truly she was inspired of God to write these books.
