So I built the website USS Theodore E. Chandler Letters From A Sailor to promote my book, Alzheimer's, Archaeology, and the Armed Forces: The Story of a Family, and to share the memorabilia and photographs that my Dad had from his Navy days.
The other day I got an email from a gentleman who told me that his great uncle was Rear Admiral Theodore E. Chandler, and his grandmother was the sister of Theodore's wife, Beatrice Fairfax! HOW COOL IS THAT!?! He concluded his message with this: Well God bless your dad for his service and you for keeping the memory of the Chandler 717 alive! I'm so amazed and honored that this gentleman took the time to share with me his connection to the ship my Dad served on. What a wonderful, wonderful thing! Praise God!
